Time to think about a new number for me

Wally disconnected his phone because he couldn't stand the 10-15 calls A DAY from his mom. She starts at 7:00 in the morning and doesn't stop till early evening. Now some may think "What's the big deal?" But when NOT ONE of those calls are to say "How are you doing?" or "What have the kids been up to lately?" No, it's always about some idea or something she has going on with her. I can't think of the last call where she said something like... "I was just thinking about you and wanted to say hi", we get.... "I need your camera so I can take pictures for Craigslist." or "I guess Richard was thinking of us because I am finding more and more coins and pieces of metal that is worth some money". I guess it would be way too far fetched that maybe, just MAYBE he collected those things because it brought him a little bit of peace, it was something he could do in his alone time???? Then of course we are terrible people when we don't understand her, or we ignore her calls.

Today I had a wonderful day planned to spend with my mom and sister and the brood of kids we have and what do I get... in a span of 5 hours there were 7 calls from Jean. Of those calls she left a message 3 times for me to call her because it was important. Important to me would be someone dying or a major family crisis, but to Jean it is "I need a Wally hug". Then when we don't call her, she shows up on our doorstep and starts talking, not thinking we are enjoying some quiet time.

But just when I am sitting in my pjs, trying to relax, thinking I survived a day, she comes to me and says she wants to ride to WORK with me tomorrow so she can shop while I work and then ride home so she isn't wasting her gas. So now, not only do I have to listen to her bad mouth my husband, show favoritism with my kids, try and sympathtic towards her situation, I also get to take her to work with me and bring her home so she can save gas????????? Can she try and needle in my life anymore? Work was my safe haven, and now she wants to impede on that so she can buy some Christmas gifts and save gas. I can just imagine what those conversations on the way home will be like....
